An avid plein air painter, Dan Lukens’ work is an ode to the familiar places characteristic of his home in the lower Hudson Valley.

A life-long Rockland native, Dan earned his BFA from Purchase College art school in 1979 though drawing and painting have been a passion since early childhood.

A former not-for-profit executive, Lukens worked with people with developmental disabilities.

Exhibition credits include the Outside In gallery, The Blue Hill Cultural Arts Center, the Darvin Gallery, Ned Kelly and Company, the Volition Gallery, the Renaissance Gallery, the Garner Arts Center Gallery, the Art Center of Northern New Jersey, the Edward Hopper House and the Rockland Center for the Arts. The (RBA) Rockland Business Association’s Membership Directory featured Lukens’ work on its cover in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Lukens has previously exhibited at the Union Arts Center in 2022 and 2023.
